Wool in my soup

I am a 67 year-old grandmother living on Vancouver Island. I have crocheted, cross-stitched and rug hooked, but I always had yarn on needles. Recently knitting has become my primary hobby!

Would someone like to give me a birthday present?!

Help! I turned 67 today, and so I need to change the header on my blog, but it might be the age, but I do not know how to do this!

I swam my age this morning - 67 + 1 lengths, as I needed to get back to the end of the pool I started from. I usually swim 64 lengths (1 mile), but want to swim my age each birthday. Do you suppose I will be able to swim 80 at age 80? I certainly plan to and if you had told me that in December of 1996, when I first learned I had breast cancer, I would have never believed you!

Here in Canada, we get our 'gold' card - which is our health care card, but at age 65, you get a gold one and it is quite significant - you start getting your pension from the government. So to mark that birthday, I swam 3 miles non-stop! It felt great! I have always been a goal setter, and now my goal is to live well and live long, oh yes, to finish the Pi Shawl before the end of July!!

Life is great and I plan to have a wonderful day!

I have the honour of being the first in line to wish you a very happy birthday! I hope you have a great day. I love to swim too, and I hope that I can continue to be as active as you!

I wish I could help with the banner - I have been contemplating doing something with mine, but haven't taken the time to figure it out yet.

Happy Birthday, Peg!

OK, Here's what you do, sign in to your blog and click on settings, on that page should be your 'title' and 'description' should be right under that. Change the number to 67, or change the whole thing if you want..then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on 'save settings'...
that's it. Happy Birthday ;^)

Let me know how it goes.

Here you go... go to your Dashboard where you start a new post. Where it says, "Manage Posts, Settings, Layout," choose Layout. Then you'll be at the "Add and Arrange Page Elements" page. In the long horizontal box marked Header, choose Edit. The Blog Description box should have the text you want to update; make your changes and click Save Changes. Then in the Page Elements page, click Save (in the upper right) again just in case.

Happy Birthday Peg! I am turning a mere 50 next week and you are obviously in way better shape than I am. Good on you! You have inspired me to set a similar goal for myself for the years ahead, but I don't swim. Hmm. Maybe walking or hiking? I will have to think about it.

Happy Birthday! You are an inspiration.

Would you like a picture in your banner? That's tougher, but do able. And it would make an awesome birthday present. :-)

Oh happy birthday, Peg, and many more years of treating us with your postings! I'm a couple of years behind you but you have got me determined to up that easygoing 10 lengths to - well, perhaps not 50, but maybe 20....15...?

Should I send you sufficient yarn for a new swimsuit? (You'd have to be careful with the gauge, mind...)
